Brad Rembold

President

Brad is the CEO of All Island Equity MIC. He has been the active day-to-day manager since 2017. As a licensed Mortgage Broker since 2007 he has extensive experience in all aspects of mortgage lending. Mr. Rembold graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Management and minoring in Finance. His work history includes: Account Executive with Accredited Home Lenders (2006 – 2008), mortgage administrator and sales with Coastal Community Credit Union (2008 – 2009), and working as an independent mortgage broker with Mortgage Architects followed by Sand Dollar Mortgages since 2009.

Dawn Paniz

Past President

Dawn is a founding shareholder and Director of Fisgard Capital Corporation and President, CFO, and Director of Fisgard Asset Management Corporation.  With thirty years of experience in the mortgage and investment industry, she is also licensed as a Dealing Representative and Mortgage Broker.   Dawn is a past director of the National Exempt Market Association and served as a member of the BCSC, Corporate Finance Stakeholder Forum.  In addition to raising capital for Fisgard, Dawn oversees the financial operations of the organization including developing financial and tax strategies, overseeing budgets and audits, and corporate governance.

Rich Smith

Rich is the CEO of Tekamar Mortgage Fund Ltd. He has been a licensed Mortgage Broker under the Mortgage Brokers Act since 2011. During his studies of economics at University of Calgary, he joined Tekamar to broker mortgages part-time. Following university, Rich left the continent to go work in software development. He returned to the mortgage industry in 2018 and quickly rejoined Tekamar where he advanced to CEO and managing partner of the business by 2024. His principal role beyond day-to-day management is overseeing recovery and mortgage underwriting.

Anna Solnickova

Anna Solnickova, BBA, CPA, CGA, RI is the Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Cove Mortgage.  With fifteen years of experience in the mortgage investment industry, she oversees Cove’s investor relations, finance, accounting, operations and compliance matters.  She is also a Director of CMIC Mortgage Investment Corporation, Founder of CFO Consulting, and Executive Officer of the Real Estate Compensation Fund Corporation.  Anna is deeply passionate about governance and bringing her vast expertise to organizations that align with her core values of integrity, transparency and kindness.  She proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the Terry Fox Foundation, Association of Women in Finance, BC MIC Managers Association and the Canadian Book Club Awards.

Melanie Zeegers

Treasurer

Melanie is the Controller of Terrapin Mortgage Investment Corp.  Melanie has over 25 years of experience in accounting and holds a CPA, CGA accounting designation.  Melanie is also a Dealing Representative for Waverley Corporate Financial Services, a company registered as an Exempt Market Dealer across Canada.

Shannon Hillman

Board Member

Shannon has over thirty years of real estate finance experience. She is a founding partner and Director of Capital West Mortgage, President of the Capital West Alternative Lending Division, and the Managing Director for Pacifica Mortgage Investment Corporation.

In addition to being a current board member to the BCMMA, she is also a member of the Mortgage Investment Association of British Columbia (MIABC), and part of the Canadian Alternative Mortgage Lenders Association (CAMLA).

She has been an integral part of the planning and execution of multiple tradeshows, is active in all aspects of the lending community, and contributes to many charities close to her heart.
